The high-grade cation resin uses ion exchange to replace calcium hardness minerals with more soluble sodium. Softened water helps reduce scale buildup in pipes and water-heating equipment while improving soap and detergent lathering. It can also help leave glassware shinier, laundry softer and hair and skin feeling smoother.
The manual valve provides a simple way to backwash and regenerate the resin using a brine solution stored in the included brine tank. No electrical connection is required, and salt is replenished as needed based on the incoming water hardness and the volume of water treated.
